I'm shopping around for a new cell phone. There's nothing wrong with the LG I have, it's just that it's a couple of years old and the buttons are starting to peel from cosmetics corrosion.
It's been a super handy-dandy li'l phone....but now it's just gross.
I'm finding it hard to believe that to by a new phone without a Sprint PCS contract extenstion is going to cost me $350 bucks (a la Best Buy).
Where can I find a better deal? I only paid $40 for the one I have now so I'm quite obviously not looking to shit out a ton of money.

Posted by: Jim at March 2, 2005 05:53 AMIf you've had your current phone for more than 18 months, you can get a $150 rebate with Sprint. You might also be able to get a service credit if you give your old phone back to a Sprint store (presumably so they can resell it for way more than it's worth).
Posted by: Em at March 2, 2005 06:04 PMYup, go with the actual Sprint store, save yourself any hassle...you can check online about the eligibility for the rebate...if you do and when you get your check, it's pure money in the bank. (I still say, F*** Radio Shack!)
But, you're not going to techie stress over what the Sprint-Nextel will produce in terms of phones (or phones you may end up needing to fully use their services)?
Finally, I suggest the Sanyos.
