Huddled Masses Wanted for Heat.

I came home and the temperature inside the house was 62 degrees although set at 72. Further, the heater is blowing cold air and it won't shut off. It's supposed to get really really cold by tomorrow morning and our heat isn't working (yes, we paid the bill).

People want $112/hr to come out to look at it tonight.

Screw that.

The thing I do is make a pot of beans... that will warm up the place.

72 degrees? what, are you living in a hot house? my place hasn't seen 72 degrees since, oh, ever. Embrace the 62 degrees, learn to wear layers, think of all the germs that can't live in the cold! but really, It sounds like your pilot light went out.

Yeah, that happens to us all the time. It's the pilot light...

Heh, forget the germies, I would freeze to death at lower than 72. My body is so carefully calibrated that I can feel minute temperature changes. I guess I'm like an orchid--I'd rather be hot and sweating.
