You'll find this interesting.

Last, oh...I guess it was Monday or Tuesday, we were having a discussion at work about the changes that will be made to our website and discussing how we should meet over the weekend to write copy for it. It seems that some people don't have lives and found that amenable. Soonafter, Bossman remembered that the car show would be in town and that he'd rather be doing that.

Since the copywriting task still needed to be done, someone (Bossman, I think) had the harebrained/off-the-wall idea that we [the entire office] should rent a beach house for Easter weekend and go have a working holiday.

I turned my back and grumbled silently to myself while my coworkers were pumping their fists in the air and going "Yeah!" It was all a sick sick joke until Newest Guy turned from his computer and said "This house is on the waterfront and has six bedrooms." From that point on it became reality and we [as in they] began the week-long quest for a house that could sleep 15-17 people with twelve of those people being halves of couples (no room sharing, if you catch my drift).

To make this event reality, we needed a house with at least six bedrooms. Bossman's three single sons could fight over the couch if necessary. And it needed to be pet-friendly.

Three days later they realized that nobody was going to house that many people and their dogs, so they settled for finding something that wasn't pet-friendly.

Eventually, Newest Guy found a house that sleeps 26 in 7 bedrooms and 6.5 baths. Bossman provided a credit card number and now the deed is done.

Scott and I will be spending two days this weekend with my coworkers, their significant others, and all of Bossman's immediate family.

...

I should start charging the camera up now, right? Bossman has since learned that Hooters is a block away.

Does NO ONE spend time with their families for the holiday? I'd have had to beg off. Don't get me wrong, in one of my former jobs, planning corporate conferences was one of my duties and I loved it as well as attending and coordinating these conferences - half work, half play. As the coordinator and a member of the corporate staff, I always got a private suite, which was, well, sweet. The hotels usually allowed me an extra night on the them (as a gimme for choosing their establishment) and my husband (then boyfriend) would come meet me and we would pay the other night(these things ran Wednesday to Friday) and stay the weekend in whatever destination. It was great, however, if they'd ever tried to pull something like that over a weekend or a holiday I (and at least 25+ other people) would have balked no matter how cool the place. Spending the weekend or a holiday with your coworkers is just not my idea of a great time OR relaxing.

Now if this is your idea of a great weekend, have at it. It looks like a great house and you could get some great dirt on the coworkers...

Sounds like an episode of "Real World: Blown Fuse."
Too bad there won't be any video...

Oh Tiffany, you're going to spend your Easter weekend in hell. This may effect your karma for lives to come.

Ironically, my boss has pulled the same stunt. Only we're going on "vacation" together on April 2-9.

Have (as much) fun (as possible)!
