"Would you like to provide a credit card number now, or shall we bill you?"

Today at work I got a call from a pharmaceutical distributor who sells product to my doctor. It looks like I have to pay a $45 copay for each injection. Add that to $35 for each nurse visit where I go in to get said injection.

I'm going to go cut little green rectangles out of construction paper and roll around in them like they're dollar bills. It'll make me feel better.

Hey, they can't sell you the vials and you can inject yourself? If it's subcutaneous that's really easy and almost painless. I did that for a couple of months. After the first one it's kind of cool. If it's intramuscular, Scott could do it for you (the nurse can teach him). God knows my husband LOVED jabbing me in the ass with really long needles. He actually chortled with glee each time. He mumbled something about ME being a pain in the ass and this serving me right or something...

I realize that some of the injectables are infused into an oil base and this makes them more painful and more difficult to inject, but still it's a lot cheaper if you're watching your pennies. We really had no choice in the matter, because I was getting daily shots for several days of each month and I couldn't go to the doctor each time. However, if I HAD, my nurse would not have charged - but I also have a really great relationship with her - been going to this doctor for "nigh on 12 years, now".

Good luck girlie, and have "fun" this weekend.
