Did anyone else see NBC's new show The Office last night? I made a special effort to keep my eyes open until 9:30 to see it. While I wasn't utterly dissapointed, I did feel like the critics were right: we've taken another British black comedy and dumbed it down.
I actually like [most] British comedy, so I could see where the baton got dropped.
I'll see what happens next Tuesday. I won't pencil it into my permanent schedule just yet.
Posted by Tiffany at March 25, 2005 11:41 AMA while ago, I signed up to have NBC survey me about my viewing habits, so I got a nifty e-mail a few weeks back to watch like 10 minutes of previews for The Office. I made it a special point to tell them how stupid the show was and that I would definitely not be watching, and I can tell you that it's not going to get any better....first class suckitude, that is.
Posted by: kira at March 27, 2005 03:52 PMI haven't seen the British version to compare it to but I've heard lots of good things about that. So I watched it and it was pretty subdued. It has potential that I don't think they tapped into.
