The 100 Acre Wood Bedroom

The husbanderino and I have lots of things to decide about the baby. One being his name, but we'll be arguing over that until right before the nurses wheel me out the hospital's front door.

Another is what exactly is going to be the nursery's decor. See, when I was a baby I was moved around a lot. I was in NY for a while, I was in NC for a while, back to NY, back to NC - you get the drift. I never really had a room decorated for me, per se, but that might also have something to do with the fact that I was the second kid...second girl, too. ("Whoopdie frickin' do," they must have thought.)

There were certain items that usually got moved around with me: my baby pillow, some wood-backed pictures of Jack and Jill, and this weird balloon lamp. No real theme, though.

Scott had a Winnie the Pooh thing going and wants to subject the kid to the same. I'm sort of thinking "EeeeeeeeHHHhhhh, NO." I like Winnie the Pooh almost as much as I like my stretch marks. He just...grates me. The animated cartoon does, anyway.

I've sort of settled into a compromise of where if we can find bedding and such with the original Pooh art (God, that's expensive) I'll keep my mouth shut. I don't think I'll be able to be able to stomach the new version with the bright colors. The kid'll think he's on a Disney theme park ride.

I love the classic Pooh, it is so much better.
