So, we bit the bullet yesterday and made the harrowing drive down 540 to Raleigh to use the Babies 'R Us coupons we had that were going to expire today.
We've had our final two contenders for the crib narrowed down as of...hmm, when did we go to Tampa?...July. We decided yesterday that if two cribs had similar composition and durability, the one that retails for $200 less would be the smarter purchase. Fortunately, after three months of waffling, the store actually still had that model in stock. And what's the deal with crib mattresses? The store had a huge selection of them, and having never purchased one before, we were at a real lost at identifying the difference between the $130 product and the $50 product. Scott did the "bouncy test" on them and picked the moderately-priced one that didn't go bananas when squeezed in the middle.
It looks pretty simple to put together, but then again, the last time I said that, the thing I was putting together was incredibly heavy and I ended up dropping it on my foot. This looks like a Scott project. I'll just go pre-wash the sheets.

Its certainly not like the kid's gonna know the difference in price! And anybody that "sniffs" at the less expensive one, send them a request for payment for a year's worth of diapers!
