Geek.

I merged my hard drive partions last night and am in the process of purging files to make even more space.

My computer is a Pentium to with about 6 GB of space. That's not funny. It's a laptop, and apparently back in 1999 this was all the rage.

Anyhow, I bought The Sims 2 yesterday. I've been holding my breath since September when it came out and didn't want to fork over the money for it until now. Imagine the bitter taste in my mouth when I found out how much hard drive space I needed to run it. *sigh*

Even if my D: drive was entirely empty, there still wouldn't be enough continuous space to store it. So, I did want any irrational person would do and got rid of my drive partions. I crossed my fingers and thought to myself that if something fucked up--so be it. I'm planning for a new PC soon, anyway.

Right now I'm uploading all of my image files onto my web space to clear off a little more room for the installation.

Oh, honey. I am at once happy and sad for you. I really, really hope it runs on that machine. I REALLY do. But if I'm having trouble with a P4 and a hot graphics card... well.

My husband's machine runs it very well, but of course he's got a Dell XPS. Rat Bastard. Oh, did I say that out loud? ;)

Great game, and now that we can have recolors I'm downloading my butt off.. :)

*sigh*

After all that tinkering, my DirectX and 3D rendering isn't up to snuff...and since the company that originally created the drivers no longer creates drivers for IBM, I'm screwed.

Damn it! I'll call that a $50 lesson.

*cries*

Any new book reviews?

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with getting the Sims 2 on your computer.

My computer is a 1.6 GHZ custom build that's only a year old, and I had to triple my RAM and get a video card for Christmas in order to play the game smoothly. Even so, I could still use more memory, because I can't play any large lots full of furniture and stuff without the game getting choppy. It's a beautiful game, but it really takes a toll on your computer's memory.

I hope you get that new PC soon, or get the drivers figured out for your current one, so you can play the game. Good luck!
