900 instances of comment spam.
That's what I get for not turning on my computer until 5 o'clock, eh?
I'm very close to saying "fuck this" and giving up this blogging thing. If I have to keep moving like a witness protection participant, it's not worth it.
Posted by Tiffany at January 2, 2005 05:30 PMI thought mu.nu was supposed to help with that. Those spam bastards! How dare they bother you again! Really, I've read that Pixy Misa can help you out with your problem. But hey, I'm blogless so what do I know? Just don't quit - fight the lowlife bastards.
Posted by: Momotrips at January 2, 2005 06:18 PMThere are so many bells and whistles attached to munu that I must confess that I haven't utilized them all yet, heh.
It's taken me this long just to get images off my old site. I think maybe if I do a forced preview on all comments, that'll shut them down for a while.
Posted by: Tiffany at January 2, 2005 06:21 PMCP DAVE has beaten the bastages on my site so far... We have to have comment preview but OH MAN IS IT NICE TO COME PREPARED TO DELETE 500 AND HAVE NONE! I know the pain you feel with Spammer Leeches
:-)
MT is kinda cool
Posted by: KEEME at January 2, 2005 07:10 PMPixy did a load of work over the weekend and we're in much better shape now. I just implemented the "close comments" doodad and it works like a charm. Get the info here.
Posted by: Jim at January 3, 2005 10:09 AMThat's ridiculous! Nothing's sacred anymore.
Don't give up!
Posted by: Amanda at January 3, 2005 12:13 PMDon't give up! There are other blog comment engines out there. I use Haloscan and get maybe one or two comment spams a week (now I'll get thousands, I'm sure!).
I'd like to know what the spammers think they are accomplishing by pissing off so many people with their stupid ads?
Yeah I'm not big on the spam comments either. When I'm bored I go on archive hunts and find them and close commenting on old entries that no one is going to post on anyways. Don't give up!
