*washes hands clean of it*

The crap ordeal is over. I called the distributor's office this morning at 7:45ish to request that "John" come and get his merchandise. I was told that the message would be relayed.

By around 11, Bossman suggested that I take the stuff to the nearest police department and leave it there, telling the company that I had done so.

That seemed a bit too extreme for my tastes, so I merely called the company, got their address, and dropped the merchandise off myself. I took a printed receipt for the receptionist to sign indicating that they'd recieved all 13 items back that were listed on the order form. She didn't give me any hassle about dropping it off--she stated that many companies have policies prohibiting solicitation at their places of business.

Guess who showed up at 1:30? "John." He seemed utterly confused. When I queried why he hadn't returned to pick up the items on Monday after Bossman called him, he said that he didn't remember having a conversation with him.

Strange. Either "John" has someone else answering his phone or the same person that answered at the distribution center this morning that didn't relay my message has been practicing some serious assholery.
