I'm the person you WANT to stand next to in line.

In the coming week, I will squirt out the last of the perfume toilet water I've been hoarding and using sparing for the past six years.

I wear Versace Red Jeans. When I bought that bottle I heard rumors that it was going to be discontinued so I thought, "Hey, I'll save it for a special occasion."

Now I wear it every day and it has become my signature scent. As far as I can tell you can still find it on some places on the internet.

I think I want to try something new and might go looking around this weekend.

What do you ladies wear? Don't you hate it when people sniff you, ask you what you're wearing, and then go out and buy it but don't smell nearly as good as you because their musky-ass body chemistry doesn't meld with the scent?

I wear Rapture by Victoria's Secret. I have been wearing it since I was 16 and I'm 27 now. I went through a period of wearing Passion, but always go back to Rapture.

In spring and summer, I've mostly worn Chloe for about 25 years, however, Chloe does not smell good on a lot of women. (Sample first.) I also like La Chasse Aux Papillons by L'artisan which you almost have to buy on ebay. Those are both light florals. For winter, 24 Faubourg by Hermes.

"musky-ass body chemistry..." You're not supposed to squirt it on your ass!

I used to wear:
Obsession by Calvin Klein
Sunflowers (Estee Lauder? I still have half a bottle)
Beautiful by Estee Lauder I think
Red Door by Elizabeth Arden
And when I was in high school, Lauren by Ralph Lauren

Now I'm allergic to just about everything. I wear eau de mommy smell now.

I have several favorites:

Dunhill Desire
Chanel Chance
Calyx by Prescriptives
Ysatis de Givenchy
Sung by Alfred Sung (it smells odd when you first spray it, but it mellows)

Bath & Bodyworks Bodysplashes in White Ginger & Amber (winter), or Coconut Lime Verbena (summer). I like the shower gels and bubble baths and lotions, too.

I prefer things that smell like you might want to eat it - I used to love Cher's scent because it reminded me of wedding cake. I also like fruity scents with spicy notes. I wore Lauren by Ralph Lauren and Opium by YSL all through college - it was the 80's...

I live in SE Texas where it is hot and humid, so I often change scents in cold & hot weather. I also like to layer - I often used to layer Ysatis and Colors by Benneton - guys loved it! I also ALWAYS spray my hair - it holds the scent longer.

No need to go without, dear heart. One of my favorite online outlets (fragrancenet.com) has Red Jeans!

I love that Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia scent. Of course, my time as a Mall Wench was in the perfume department, so I had time a-plenty to test the lot of them. But when someone asks me what I'm wearing, I lie, for just the reason you mention. I almost always say Stetson, or I make up a name like Eau de la Toast.

I'm going to bring a man's perspective up in this piece so y'all can read now and laugh later. ;-P

But I think it's very important that women wear perfume but they should find out what's their smell is first. Not every perfume is one size, smells all, ya dig?

I wear two different types of colognes -- one for the spring/summer, one for the fall/winter. It's not unusual for me to spend, like, 30 minutes picking out a cologne for myself because I want the right type of smell on me. The counter ladies always give me shit.

But nothing pisses me off more when someone comes up to me and says, "you have too much cologne on" and the person smells like a wilder beast.

I'm pretty good of not overdoing it with the cologne, but even if a person gets a small whiff of me -- I catch hell. And it's usually from people who smell like cigarettes, booze, shit or bagels.

I mean really . . . it's 8 am in the morning, you're on the train going to work smelling like coffee, cigarettes and an onion bagel; and you are telling me that I smell too perfumey? Get a grip, a tic-tac and a bar of soap. But I digress.

I think it's important that men and women try to smell as good as possible. I don't care what anybody says, smelling like you just got out of bed or just had sex is NOT NATURAL! It's just stinks.

BTW, I think Victoria Secrets makes great scents for women. When I smell that . . . man, I get a little flirteous to the woman whose got that on. I know y'all are not "hollaback girls" but a brotha like me has to got "holla" at you.

Heh heh, I agree, Trent. I work with a few people who are against wearing "toxic chemicals" on their bodies (i.e. deodorant, etc.)

I try not to hover around them. I'd rather smell like Kool-Aid than b.o. anyday.

My personal favorite is CK One. I also regularly wear Gap Dream and Gap Om. I occasionally wear Tommy Girl in the winter.
