Shake & Bake

Things are sort of shaking up at work. Yesterday when I had tiptoed out of the office in the morning to look at kitties at the animal shelter, a dude got fired. The problem with this dude being fired is that his twin also works there. His twin told one of my coworkers that the only reason he was working there was to help his brother get his client list off the ground.

Okay, heh heh. This is funny. Let me rewind.

You know how I'm always blathering about certain coworkers being underproductive? Well, these are the two people I'm referring two. When both started, they were off with a bang - working hard and making immediately making headway. At some point, they hit their walls and from then on just stagnated. They do enough work that they're covering their own salaries, but that's not saying much.

Bossman's smartest move ever is knowing that if he fires the one, he can get rid of both leeches. I can't be sympathetic here. I've been encouraging them both to get on the fucking phone and do what they're supposed to. Whatever happens as a result of them not doing so is their problem.

The problem that arises from this situation is that we're in a business that relies heavily on our database. Keeping our information a secret is important to staying competitive. If this guy leaves and tries to snatch clients from us, things are going to be ugly.

Okay. On to more positive things. Bossman has had his eye on the suite adjoining ours and as of yesterday it's ours. Now we have to hire more people so that we can justify using it. I'm going to try to throw my weight into being moved over there. I mean, there's no real reason for me to move, but that suite is window-lined and I could have a corner work area. sounds like a good damn time to me.

Aw! all ready looking to add to the family again? Kitties are happier when there are two of them. I wish I had found a friend for Tex back when I was in the Kitty market.
